Community Guidelines

Last updated: 2026-06-04

1. Scope

These Community Guidelines apply to works, chapters, comments, replies, reading lists, profiles, reports, private or public interactions, and other community features on GlotTale.

These Guidelines form part of the Terms of Service. Content or conduct that violates these Guidelines may be restricted, removed, or result in feature or account limitations.

2. Basic principles

GlotTale is a web fiction platform centered on stories, reading, creation, and cross-language exchange. Community participation must be respectful, lawful, clearly labeled where needed, and conducted in a way that does not harm others.

You may disagree, criticize works, and discuss sensitive subjects. You may not attack, humiliate, harass, incite, or maliciously distort others.

3. No harassment, hate, or personal attacks

You must not post or participate in:

Criticism of a work should focus on text, plot, characters, narrative, setting, or expression. It should not become a personal attack against the author or readers.

4. Spoilers and reading order

When discussing major plot points, endings, character deaths, identity reveals, or other information that may significantly affect the reading experience in public areas, use the platform’s spoiler tools or provide a clear warning at the start.

Work titles, short reviews, public reading-list titles, profiles, and other difficult-to-avoid locations should not directly reveal major plot developments.

5. AI translations and cross-language discussion

GlotTale’s cross-language reading experience may use AI-assisted translation. Translations may be incomplete, tonally inaccurate, or unable to fully reflect the cultural context of the original text.

You may point out translation issues and provide constructive suggestions. You may not attack the original author, readers of another language, or a language group because of a translation error.

Cross-language discussion should avoid mocking language ability, regional culture, or translation results. Basic respect for users of different languages is required for the platform to function.

6. Respect creators and copyright

You must not copy, repost, redistribute, sell, compile into external resources, or otherwise use works, chapters, comments, reading lists, or other content posted by others on GlotTale without authorization.

You must not impersonate an author, misappropriate works, fabricate authorization, plagiarize content, or attempt to avoid infringement review by renaming, splitting, or rearranging another person’s work.

If you believe content infringes your copyright, submit a formal notice under the Copyright / DMCA Policy. If you believe content violates community rules but does not involve copyright, use the platform’s reporting tools.

7. Adult content, sensitive subjects, and minor safety

Content involving adult themes, sexual content, strong violence, traumatic themes, self-harm, abuse, serious illness, discriminatory depictions, or other material that may disturb readers must be clearly labeled using the platform’s tags, rating, or warning tools.

Any content or conduct involving sexualization, exploitation, grooming, threats, extortion, or other harm to minors is strictly prohibited.

Even if presented as fiction, literature, or commentary, content must not justify, encourage, or glorify sexual exploitation or harm involving minors.

8. Spam, manipulation, and abuse

You must not send spam, repeatedly flood discussions, mass-post meaningless content, or manipulate favorites, likes, comments, follows, reads, or other engagement data.

You must not use bots, scripts, automation, large numbers of accounts, or other methods to bypass platform limits, interfere with normal service, or create false popularity.

You must not use platform features for scams, phishing, malicious traffic diversion, illegal transactions, gambling, bad-faith fundraising, or other activities inconsistent with the purpose of the platform.

9. Reports and appeals

If you find content or conduct that violates these Guidelines, you may use the platform’s reporting tools or contact GlotTale.

When submitting a report, provide specific links, relevant context, and reasons where possible. Malicious reports, false reports, or use of reporting tools to harass others may be treated as violations.

If your content or account is acted upon and you believe the action was mistaken, you may appeal or provide additional context through the channels made available by the platform.

10. Platform action

GlotTale may take action based on the violating content, severity of conduct, scope of impact, and prior history. Actions may include warnings, visibility limits, content removal, comment or posting restrictions, feature suspension, account freeze or termination, evidence preservation, and disclosure of necessary information to rights holders or relevant authorities.

Where minor safety, serious harassment, malicious attacks, infringement, system abuse, or legal risk is involved, GlotTale may take necessary action without prior notice.

11. Updates

GlotTale may update these Guidelines based on product features, community risk, legal requirements, or operational needs. Updated versions will be posted on the platform and identified by the “last updated” date shown on the page.

If you have questions about these Guidelines, please email: [email protected].
